Through the eleven The articles that make up the book are intended to take stock of the issues that have been developed in Mexico within what are called urban anthropology, their theoretical journeys, their contributions and frustrations, and the perspectives that are opening to this specialty. The articles cover topics ranging from cultural heritage until the parties in urban contexts, going through the anthropology of the perife-urban areas, border cities, workers' culture, communication between masses and the anthropology of the event (or disasters). In addition, the book includes two articles in which the same García Canclini, on the one hand, and Ana María Portal and Patricia Zafa Barraza, on the other, try to make general balances of the anthropological approach to the urban phenomenon.
A fine copy.
