One quarto sheet on Papel Sellado (fiscal paper) (11 1/4" x 8 1/4") hand written on both sides.
Don Andrés Boni y Mallol, Captain of the Spanish Ship (Barca Española) named Nuestra Santísima Real Carmen (a) la Emperatriz, which departed from Cádiz to Veracruz, when it was on it's return voyage, was captured by a British corsair in front of Villanova de Algarve.
The Captain requests, since the capture was famous and notorious, that the bond he left be revoked. He presents a certificate by the owner of the ship that captured his ship.
The Admiralty requests witnesses and their testimony by order of Dn. Felipe de Villavicencio, Brigadier of the Royal Navy, Military Commander of the Navy, signed by him.
Condition:
Edge wear with some small chips and tears, fold at center else very good. Provenance: From a private collector who after 30 years is disposing of his collection, purchased at auction.
