Frans Blom was associated with Tulane University as staff member or head of the Middle American Research Institute from 1924-1941. He was a Danish archaeologist who was an authority on Mayan culture. He spent much of his life in the jungles of Chiapas state (adjoining Guatemala) where his explorations led to the discovery of several long-lost cities attributed to the “classical period” (AD 300–900) in the history of the central Maya lowlands.
Some occasional marginalia. Dust jacket edges, corners, and spine extremities chipped, 1" x 1" chip from head corner, holes punched to back head with 1" x 1 1/2" chip. Over all a very good copy in a good dust jacket.
