The third of the four volumes of religious meditations published by subscription for the benefit of the author's wiidow. Meikle served as second surgeon's mate abord the Portland under Admiral Boscawen, and as first mate under Admiral Hawke. While at sea he taught himself to read Hebrew, and wrote much of the devotional work which was to be published over forty years later.
Rebacked with original spine laid down, corners bumped, some foxing, else a good to very good copy.
